Motivated by Appaloosas of my youth...My parents raised Quarter Horses, but the local 4-H horse club was led by 'The Great T Appaloosa Farm' in Great Bend, Kansas. In the 60's they promoted the 'All States Appaloosa Youth Show' in Hutchinson, KS for a number of years. Their trainer, Sandra Bess, gave lessons all year round, they had youth summer riding camps attended by kids from all over the country, and they took us to numerous shows including the World and Nationals. From time to time you will see pictures of some of them in the Appaloosa Classics section of the Journal. My Dad would never breed any of his mares to an Appaloosa and so when the farm disbanded, I was left with only Quarter Horses to ride. I vowed then to breed Appaloosas when I grew up! When I married in 1980 we lived in Hutchinson, Ks until '87 and then lived in Springfield, Missouri for 17 years. With two more moves in the past two years, now in Kentucky via Mississippi, after 4 kids and on and off opportunities....I am now ready to get started again. Kentucky is beautiful, although, too cold for me in the winter! I will be breeding for pretty horses that can ride.
